WAVERLY, Iowa (September 25, 2015) – Progressive construction is taking place at Waverly Utilities. A remodel of the main office, located at 1002 Adams Parkway, is making room for expanding telecom services (internet, cable and phone) coming July 2016.
The Waverly Utilities office building, originally built in 1992, faced a two-day demo last week as contractors tore down walls and stripped the main office. A functional layout of the customer service space, offices and board room will allow for both employees and visitors a better service experience. Approximately 10 jobs will be added with the expansion of telecom.
“We needed to make space for the additional four customer service reps we’ll be adding in 2016 in addition to several other positions,” stated Darrel Wenzel, General Manager of Waverly Utilities. “It is very important to Waverly Utilities to continue the tradition it has for serving our community with fast and reliable customer service, both in the office and out in the field.”
Construction is scheduled to continue through March 2016. Waverly Utilities is planning to provide initial services to test customers by April of 2016. The goal is for the first customers to be activated by July 1, 2016. Construction of the fiber network will continue through 2016.
